This collection of units were written by Colorado teachers during the 1999 Summer Writing Institute, 2000 Summer Writing Institute, 2001 Summer Writing Institute, 2002 Summer Writing Institute, 2003 Summer Writing Institute, and 2004 Summer Writing Institute and for the Colorado Unit Writing Project.  Please use the links above for more information about Colorado Summer Writing Institutes. It is important to note that all writers of these units and lessons have voluntarily contributed their ideas for publication, which are made available by the National Core Knowledge Coordinator of Colorado on a non-profit basis. The National Core Knowledge Coordinator of Colorado extends her thanks to all teachers who have contributed. These units and lessons reflect the teaching philosophies and strategies of those who wrote the lessons and do not necessarily represent the "best" way to teach the Core Knowledge topics.
